About Angela
I have been tutoring English for over 6 years now and have experience teaching students from Year 2 to Year 10. I have helped students successfully prepare for the 7+ and 11+ exams as well as supporting international students and those generally struggling with English. I have over 3 years experience working with Special Educational Needs, such as dyslexia, in primary schools and in mental health settings.
I have helped numerous students reach their potential, whether it be in gaining a place at some of London’s top schools or, more generally, to develop confidence and autonomy in learning.
I hold a 1st class honours degree in Psychology and am currently a trainee psychotherapist in London. I also have a CELTA and a TEFL.

Having a background in Psychology and Psychotherapy, I offer a holistic approach to teaching. Therefore, I aim to build rapport and self-belief before building on academic abilities.
I will often review large parts of the curriculum, identifying gaps in understanding which we will work to consolidate. I tailor make the sessions so that material is adapted to suit the needs of the learner and is centred around their interests. I offer a supportive learning environment in which students are given praise and positive reinforcement. This helps to engage them and to develop a positive attitude towards learning.
Overall, I am patient, warm and encouraging. Ultimately, it is my aim to inspire children to be creative and to give them learning experiences that they can use to achieve and grow into independent people.
