About Leon
I am an environmental engineering student at the Ohio State University. For academic record, I am a National AP Scholar, meaning I have passed at least 8 exams with an average score of a 4 or higher, and also received a National Merit Commendation during 2019. For tutoring experience, I was a Pre-calculus teachers assistant during my sophomore year of high school, teaching students between grade levels 10-12, and have done middle school and highschool tutoring for the metro school at my university.

My teaching method focuses mostly on pushing students towards the right direction of their class work without infringing on their process of learning. For example, I find leading questions more helpful than lecturing a student on information they were already taught, but I am not unable to directly re-teach a topic if need be for a particular student. In addition, I am relatively young and can better relate to students at the middle and high school levels, and thus can make a more conducive environment for learning in a comfortable setting for the student.
My experience lies mostly with helping students who are struggling with particular subjects rather than general teaching. For example, I am very well equipped for students with a specific inquiry or a variety of topics which they need clarification or additional instruction on, and I would be more than happy to help students through their schoolwork.
Lesson structure can be generally loose. I am willing to work on whatever topic a student presents to me given that we have enough time to cover it. If the student or a parent can reach out to me ahead of time to give me a better idea of what topics they would like me to cover, I could present a more structured lesson for the student, but overall, a more casual session for the lesson is acceptable.
