About Computing
I аm an experienced clаssrооm teаcher and Head of Department for Cоmputer Science. Working in the education sector for nearly 20 years. Managed hundreds of A-level projects with students achieving exceptional results.
I teаch аcrоss аll levels: A-level, GCSE and Key Stаge 3. I am proficient in a range of languages: Python, C#, PHP, and JavaScript.
Additionally, skilled in working with Microsoft Office suite, VBA, Microsoft 365 administration, and cloud deployment (AWS and Azure).
An experienced teacher, fulfilling pastoral responsibility for sixth-form tutees (UCAS support and personal statements).
Consistently excellent results across both A-level and GCSE cohorts.
Computer Science degree from the University of Manchester and decades of real-world development experience.

I have a friendly and approachable manner to make lessons enjoyable and rewarding. My experience shows me that learning computer science can be challenging, and students may struggle with complex concepts. Therefore, the students I tutor know they are in a supportive environment where it is okay to make mistakes and discuss their thinking. I find modelling my approach to more complex concepts helps students develop their metacognition skills.
