About Samantha
I am a tenured economics professor with over 20 years of experience teaching and working with students at different levels. I have received multiple teaching awards and am known for making complex material clear and approachable. My background includes teaching microeconomics, macroeconomics, and upper-level courses, as well as mentoring students through challenging coursework and academic writing. I understand that many students feel overwhelmed by economics, and I focus on creating a supportive, professional environment where you can ask questions, build confidence, and make real progress.

I approach tutoring the same way I approach teaching as a professor: the goal is real understanding, not memorization. I break down complex economic concepts into clear, intuitive steps and connect them to real-world examples so they make sense. A typical lesson starts with identifying where you’re getting stuck, then working through problems together, and ends with you explaining the concept back in your own words. I work with undergraduate and graduate students in micro, macro, and related courses, and I also help with study strategies and written assignments. Students often say I make economics feel manageable and even interesting.
