About Shawna

I began my journey with ESL by tutoring young children who were newcomers to Canada in reading English.

I spent several months in Taiwan as an ESL teacher for an English School, where I worked with classes as young as 3 years old, as old as 14 years old. I spent my evenings tutoring privately, working mostly with teenagers who planned to move to North America one day for University.

I eventually went to University and obtained an Honours Degree in Modern Language and Cultural studies, where I honed my language skills and took classes on how to teach a second language to adults.

Now, I am self employed and am looking forward to working with English learners from around the world.

About the lesson

I am engaging, accommodating, and fun. I gear my lessons around my students - why are you learning English? What are your interests, hobbies, and future plans? Learning English should become an enjoyable part of every day life, and should be intertwined with your every day experiences.

Experienced English teacher and enthusiast, available for video sessions around the clock.
