About Grace

I’m a passionate English tutor with classroom experience teaching students from a variety of backgrounds and skill levels.

I previously worked as an English teacher in Spain, where I helped students improve their reading, comprehension, vocabulary, and communication skills in a supportive and engaging environment. This experience allowed me to work closely with learners of different ages and learning styles while adapting lessons to meet individual needs.

In addition, I have worked as a substitute teacher for ESL (English as a Second Language) classes, supporting students as they developed confidence in speaking, reading, and understanding English. Through this role, I learned how important patience, encouragement, and flexibility are in helping students succeed.

My teaching style is friendly, professional, and student-focused. I aim to create lessons that are interactive, encouraging, and tailored to each student’s goals. Whether you are looking to improve reading comprehension, strengthen literacy skills, build vocabulary, or become more confident using English, I will work with you at your own pace and help you make steady progress.

I believe learning English should feel motivating and rewarding, and I strive to create a comfortable environment where students feel confident asking questions and practicing without fear of mistakes.

I’m an English reading and literacy tutor who focuses on building confidence, comprehension, and communication skills in a supportive, student-centered environment. My approach is tailored to each learner’s goals, learning style, and current ability level so that lessons feel engaging, practical, and encouraging.

My teaching method and techniques

I use an interactive and structured teaching approach that combines guided reading, vocabulary development, comprehension strategies, and critical thinking. I believe students learn best when lessons are both supportive and challenging, so I adapt materials and activities to suit each student’s pace and interests.

My teaching techniques include:

Active reading and discussion
Vocabulary-building exercises
Reading comprehension strategies
Pronunciation and fluency practice
Writing support and grammar correction
Question-based learning to improve critical thinking
Real-world texts and personalized learning materials

I also focus heavily on positive reinforcement and clear communication so students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning process.

A typical lesson plan

A typical lesson usually includes:

A short review of previous material and progress check
Warm-up conversation or reading activity
Guided reading and comprehension practice
Vocabulary and language focus
Interactive exercises or discussion
Feedback, corrections, and strategy tips
A short recap and optional practice for the next session

Lessons are flexible and adjusted depending on the student’s age, level, and goals.

What sets me apart as a tutor

What sets me apart is my patient, encouraging, and adaptable teaching style. I aim to create a relaxed learning environment where students feel motivated and confident. I focus not only on improving reading and literacy skills, but also on helping students become independent learners who enjoy reading and communicating in English.

I pay close attention to each student’s strengths and areas for improvement, and I personalize lessons to keep them engaging and effective.
