About Christina

Hello! I’m a passionate and experienced English tutor with a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Nonfiction and a Master's in Teaching with over 10 years of teaching experience. I’ve worked with students from elementary through college, helping them improve their writing, deepen their reading comprehension, and express themselves with confidence. My background in both academic and creative writing allows me to support a wide range of learners—from those struggling with essays and grammar to those looking to refine their voice in personal statements or creative pieces. I’m patient, reliable, and genuinely invested in helping each student succeed. Whether you need focused support on a specific assignment or ongoing help building foundational skills, I’m here to guide you with structure, encouragement, and clarity.

About the lesson

As a tutor, I believe every student has a unique voice and learning style, and my approach is centered on meeting them where they are. I use a blend of discussion, modeling, and guided practice to build confidence and clarity in reading and writing. A typical session might begin with a quick check-in and review of goals, followed by targeted work on a specific skill—like developing a thesis, organizing an essay, or analyzing a piece of literature. I ask thoughtful questions that guide students toward deeper understanding rather than simply giving them answers. With an MFA in Creative Nonfiction and 10 years of classroom experience, I bring both professional expertise and a warm, encouraging presence. My lessons are ideal for middle school through college students, as well as adult learners, whether they need help with school assignments, college essays, or personal writing projects. I specialize in creative writing, academic writing, and critical reading skills.
