About Lauren
I simply love teaching and learning and want to empower others to have the same outlook. All learners deserve to feel confident and capable in English. Being able to read, write, and speak confidently is a vital skill to achieve success in all aspects of life. Nobody should go without this skill, and it's my pleasure to help students achieve success. I believe everyone has the capacity to be proficient and confident with English, whether this be reading, writing, or language. Successful learning of English requires a skilled practitioner who uses the most current and effective teaching strategies. I love to learn what works for my students, and this contributes greatly to my success as a teacher. I am professional and warm, and my approach is pragmatic and efficient. We get to work straight away! When students feel confident and appropriately supported, they will achieve growth.

My teaching style is adaptive and responsive to my students' needs. This means that I use my experience and skills to design learning content that suits my individual students, so that they can engage with the learning and achieve success.
I draw upon evidence-based teaching strategies to teach English, including activating prior knowledge, explicit instruction, retrieval practice and check for understanding. My students' progress is carefully monitored, which allows me to adapt and adjust programs as needed.
The style of my sessions depend on the needs and age of my students, varying from interactive and play-based to explicit lecture-style experiences.
Sessions are for 1 hour minimum, and my skills cater for English learners from 5 through to adults.
