About Lara
I graduated with a 1st in my Masters in Piano Performance from the University of Manchester, having studied piano and music for 5 years at the University. I also have a DipABRSM Distinction in Piano, 18 years of piano experience and 3+ years of 1-1 teaching experience.
I am highly passionate about music - in general. I love all genres, and though classical piano is my expertise, I listen to everything! Because of this, whatever music you love the most (whether it is Chopin, the Beatles, Beyoncé, or anything in between!) I am here for it, and will make it happen for you.
My main goals for my students is to encourage self-confidence, and to help them feel the satisfaction of creating the music they love.
Alongside piano, I play the cello and the guitar. I've also occasionally played pop and jazz piano in bands.

I teach piano lessons for students of all ages and levels, with an open-minded and fun approach to get you or your child playing the music you are most interested in.
I teach classical piano mostly, but also pop piano, whether from sheet music or by ear. Every student has a unique, personalised lesson plan to suit them, which we will work out together. Students can choose whether or not to do piano exams too - everyone is different and I help you reach *your* goals.
Lessons can be online or in-person based on availability and preference, and depending on age and level can be between 20 minutes up to an hour.
I've taught all ages, but for kids I have a DBS, Safeguarding Children Level 2 certificate, and experience in childcare - I teach children ages 4 and up. I have experience teaching online, so if this would work for you, it works for me too.

I began learning piano with Lara with very limited experience and confidence but she was encouraging and engaging throughout. She helped me learn pieces that I enjoyed and it really improved my confidence!
