This diverse background allows me to guide students in various styles with both technical precision and historical insight, establishing a professional , trustworthy environment that promotes confidence and growth in each lesson.

About the lesson

As a cello tutor with 20 years of experience, my approach combines traditional technique with personalized methods tailored to each student’s goals, wether they are beginners or advanced players. I emphasize strong foundational skills, expressive playing, and musical understanding, blending technical exercises with creative repertoire.
My typical lesson plan includes a mix of warm-ups, focused technique work, repertoire exploration, and musical interpretation, aiming to develop not only technical ability but also a deep connection to the music.
What sets me apart is my dedication to nurturing each student’s unique musical voice, ensuring lessons are engaging, supportive, and inspiring.

Macarena is an incredible musician. When she plays in an ensemble, she listens for the other musicians better than any I’ve ever met. Her knowledge of historical style mixed with her innate musicality makes for an artist you don’t want to bypass.
Her style of teaching is focused on historically informed playing, musicality stemming from everyday life and love of all music, and the physicality of playing so the student doesn’t injure themselves.
She is patient, kind and makes a fun atmosphere for studying the cello!
