About Resham
I am a Secondary Maths Teacher with experience teaching students from KS3 through to GCSE and A-Level.
As a classroom teacher, I understand not only the Maths curriculum but also how students are assessed, where common misconceptions arise and what students need to do to improve their grades.
I have experience working with students across a wide range of abilities, from pupils who have lost confidence in Maths and need to rebuild their foundations, to higher-attaining students aiming for the top GCSE grades and progressing to A-Level.
One of the most important parts of my teaching is making students feel comfortable enough to ask questions and make mistakes. Maths can quickly become overwhelming when there are gaps in earlier knowledge, so I focus on identifying those gaps and building confidence alongside mathematical ability.
I am friendly, patient and encouraging, but I also set high expectations for my students. My aim is for students to become increasingly independent and confident when tackling unfamiliar questions.

Every lesson is tailored to the individual student rather than following a one-size-fits-all programme.
I usually begin by identifying the student's current strengths, areas for development and any gaps in prior knowledge. From there, lessons are planned around the topics that will have the biggest impact on their progress.
During lessons, I explain concepts clearly and model methods step by step before giving students the opportunity to practise independently. I use targeted questions throughout the lesson to check understanding and will explain a concept in a different way if it hasn't quite clicked the first time.
For GCSE and A-Level students, there is a strong focus on exam technique as well as mathematical understanding. We work through exam-style questions, look at how marks are awarded and develop strategies for approaching unfamiliar or higher-mark questions.
Lessons can include:
- Filling gaps in prior knowledge and strengthening key skills
- Support alongside topics currently being taught at school
- GCSE Foundation and Higher Tier preparation
- Exam technique and past-paper practice
- Targeted revision before assessments and mock exams
- A-Level Maths support
- Building confidence, accuracy and mathematical independence
My goal is not simply to help students complete a worksheet during the lesson. I want them to understand why a method works, recognise when to use it and eventually tackle similar questions confidently on their own.
