About Sabine
I have been tutoring since 2006 and have tutored students in various subjects including pre-algebra, algebra, algebra 2, geometry, pre-calculus, and calculus.
I have also been teaching math and computer science for over 7 years at the high school level.
Due to COVID, I am now still teaching high school math over Zoom. This has helped me pick up some new virtual learning strategies that I plan to use in our tutoring sessions to help you learn and understand the concepts you are struggling with :)
I also have a YouTube Channel called Mathematorials for my Computer Science students to help them with learning coding concepts in Python and Java.

Hi! My name is Sabine and I've been tutoring/teaching for as long as I can remember. I've been a tutor since High School and have always been passionate about math and computer science. I have advanced degrees in math and math education and have been a high school teacher for over 7 years!
My favorite part of teaching math is helping students grasp concepts and make connections instead of just memorizing formulas. Understanding concepts is so important and can help students progress better in any subject. I use multiple teaching approaches and different ways to represent problems, so that I can reach students who are stuck or confused. I find that breaking down problems into simpler components really helps especially when someone is overwhelmed by a problem at hand.
I have been told by my classroom students that I am funny and easy to relate to. Students say that my passion for math makes them enjoy the subject more, even if they are struggling. I try to incorporate real-world examples and make use of technology, diagrams, pictures, and multiple representations to help reach an individual.
I am patient and take my time with explanations.
My goal is to help you understand math and feel more confident progressing through the subject. I truly believe that math is for everybody and I want to inspire you to learn and succeed in the subject :)
