About Rick
I've taught all levels of acting for 20+ years.
I've been a profesional actor for 35+years.
I don't subscribe to a particular methodology of acting. I believe there are many methods and each student is unique and responds to creative stimuli/ideas in a unique way. There are some basic fundamental concepts that apply to all, but the specific details depend on each individual.

My passion in life is to help young and older students alike get in touch with their unique creative spirit. It's less about "acting" and more about helping a student in their desire to creatively express themselves.

I'm a curious person. As an actor who has studied a lot, I was always acutely aware that some of the ideas the teacher was saying is " a must" for every actor, didn't work for me. So I beagn dissecting what does and does not work for me as an actor and artist.

Question/Answer to start to try to get a sense of experience, what stimulates them creatively and their goals.
Improv. I start out with improv to let the student experience what it means to be "in the moment". And this also allows them to experience giving up trying to control. It helps aid them in being more vulnerable on stage or film
Text - we begin then understanding script and character analysis. The goals is always to make an audience bleive the words are organically comeing from the character...not the actor.
Physicalize - we then work on physicalizing the needs and wants and pasionls of their character based on the unique set of given circumstances.
High school students to adults to senior citizens. All Ages!!
The right fit is crucial. You have to feel comfortable with the teacher so you can become willing to dig deep and experience a more vulnerable side of you.
