About Steve

Hello past athletes and future athletes!

My name is Coach Greenwood and I have traveled and trained with the best pitching coaches in the country. I have demonstrated velocity drills, stretches, nutrition, and injury prevention exercises with Brent Strom(Current Pitching Coach Houston Astros) at the NCAA Elite Coaches bootcamp for 4 years. I have trained under Ron Wolforth for 12 years (ESPN and Mens Journal Coach Of The Year). I may not be an expert at astronomy but I am an expert on pitching.

"If you do what everybody else does... "You'll get what everybody else gets."

"How easy can you throw the ball hard."

Every pitcher is a snowflake(different) and that is what I love about the game! Be uncommon, Be Different, But train smart and make yourself the pitcher your body was designed to be. No matter how hard I mimic Nolan Ryan I will never be Nolan Ryan because my body is different! Be natural, fluid, dynamic, and athletic!

I have also trained with Phillip Donley! (Athletic Trainer For The Philidelphia Phillies and NFL's Phillidelphia Eagles) He Got me back to 92MPH after Tommy John Surgery. (I tore my elbow by listening to a college coachs advice) He advised me to run long distance, ice, and stop doing the drills, conditioning, weighted balls, and longtoss I was doing. (I was uncommon to him) I decreased my velocity, got beach muscles (not functional and explosive muscles), and my elbow and shoulder were in constant agony.

My stats

Trained with 3 of the most talented coaches/Doctors of Baseball

Every Pitcher/Hitter is a snowflake (different) Height does not matter!

Here is a list of Height Deficient Pro Ball Players

Alexi Amarista 5' 6"

Jimmy Rollins and Dustin Pedroia 5' 8"

Rangers Pitcher Joseph Ortiz 5' 7"

Royals Pitcher Tim Collins 5' 7"

Billy Wagner 5' 10"

There are drills that every pitcher HAS TO DO if they want to make it healthy to the next level. Doesnt matter if they're Submarine, Righty, Lefty, 3/4, or over the top.

This is not an easy process but I will make it fun where your athlete will like to train! (At the end of the day if your athlete wants to be successful. Theres no stopping him. This is My Goal)This is a day in and day out knowledge filled sport that I have studied and got with the top 3 coaches in the world. I am still eager to learn and I want to make your athlete the best I possibly can.

Bruce Lee " I am not afraid of the man who practices 10,000 kicks once." Im afraid of the man who practices one kick 10,000 times."

I will teach your athlete crucial recovery, conditioning, stretching, mental focus, and icing techniques that current MLB players do.

God Bless and I look forward to meeting you!

My nickname in college was Doc Ginge.

I had most of my college coaches come to me for advice on drills, recovery exercises, and how to maximize time in training!

After I realized how much knowledge I had for the game I feel it is my obligation now to spread this knowledge. I think it is worthless to obtain knowledge if we cannot share it to the public!

The more education we have... The more responsibility we have.

I have a Bachelors Degree in Education from McMurry University

Bachelors degree in Exercise Science

Double Minor in Education and Business

Offered to pitch in the minors but turned down to work as a Rehabilitation Specialist.

I understand and know injury from personal and research from Phil Donley (Athletic Trainer For Phillidelphia Philies and Eagles) I wanted to go to the best and he is!

12 years at Ron Wolforths Texas Baseball Ranch (ESPN, Men's Journal Coach of the Year)

Coached under Brent Strom for 8 years (Current Pitching Coach Astros)

Worked as a Demonstrator at Elite Coaches Bootcamp (In front of Minor League Baseball Coaches, NCAA DIV 1 Coaches, HS Coaches)

Worker At Ron Wolforth Baseball Ranch.

Trained with Scott Kasmier, Jason Jester, Trevor Bauer, Eric Bender, Nick Lee, and many other Professional Baseball Players.

I will make it easier for your athlete to throw hard. It is rare I cant increase 5MPH to most athletes within months. Now if your athlete is throwing 87 MPH or Harder I will be able to avoid injury and prolong your athletes career and knowledge of the game.

Video analysis, motivation  teaching by example and demonstration, measuring everything (longtoss, speed, agilities, hurdles, ladders) arm rehab are done daily.

Everyone I train will have a better understanding of what it takes to get to the next level.

"my arm has never felt this good" Most common term I hear from (Elite Texas) Rookies.

I Have coached 3 year olds up to Professional Baseball Players. I trained with Multi Millionaires in MLB that have asked my opinion on balance, icing, nutrition.

I would advise to pick carefully. Many coaches will give students a reverse affect. My training is science proven and is currently being used in MLB.

If you get a coach that doesnt know anything about Pronation, hip loading, and pauses your athlete in frame by frame positions... you will have paid someone to make your son worse.

I went to Ireland with my wife on our honeymoon.

Birth of Penny Jo (3 now)

I am having a baby boy any day now!

His name will be Crue Locryn Greenwood

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Is this person leggit?

Number 1 question you should think to yourself...

Based on the description of the persons profile how well does he know training?

Not how successful necessarily is the coach when he played but "How well does he know the game?"  Nolan Ryan is the greatest pitcher ever! He has never coached MLB because he is a Do guy.

I have a bachelors degree in teaching. My wife is a coach and teacher. My dad is a coach. It is in my genes to spread knowledge!

If a player wants to make it to the next level you cannot force them. They will do it on their own. This is a concept that I understand and I will make your child have a passion for the game!
