About Jordé
Hello, my name is Jordé and I'm very talented at teaching English & Literature and would love to help anyone in need of understanding the subject. My goal is to eventually allow you to be able to successfully write, read, analyze and edit any paper with as little as no help on whatever your scholastic journey may be.
My experience mostly comes from my 2 years in high school as an AP Literature student, working for my county's board of education where I did graphic design and helped other students read and write. From there I've been mostly helping my family and close friends who are in school and their work has always came back as a B+ or above.
Literature and reading is something I'm extremely passionate about and I'd be happy to teach anyone willing to understand the subject well enough to do the work all on their own!
~thank you!
Even though it can be a boring subject since at it's basic is simply reading, the more things you get to take on, the more you will find out relate to us personally universally. You learn about the world through literature and it's a good feeling when students start to show that they can relate to a character or understand the theme of story can relate to a moment in their life.
Simply by helping the people I already knew like family and friends. The School Board allowed me to work with kids younger than the age of 7 so I am capable of working with kids of all ages in grade school.
My training comes from my family and my time at my county's Board of Education.
I do currently tutor my mother who suffers from a reading disability, now she's doing better and doesn't need my tutoring as much now compared to 5 months ago. I have also helped my younger step brother who suffers with ADHD who didn't like reading at all and now that he's getting older he's become more interested in learning new things that he himself is curious about.
My time in the Board of Education allowed me to write little booklets for K-5 and help teachers with their students for 2018-2019. I got the chance to teach them how to read and write as well as critical thinking.

I'd first like for the student to express how they like to learn. What do they like and dislike being taught or told to do in the class and why they want to excel (because if they don't want to do better themselves obviously, they will not get anywhere).
Secondly by identifying: what, how, why then what:
1. Where does the student lie in the levels of proficiency?
2. How does the student approach an assignment?
3. Why do they choose that specific approach?
4. What can I do to make sure they approach the assignment correctly?
From this point I will know how to approach the student and what material I can use to challenge the student every time I see that they're progressing from the relevant work.
English, literature and reading is about analyzing. With any subject in school you are basically being taught how to understand the world by critically dissecting every detail to the bone because in real life the world is complicated and abstract to the core. These subjects strengthen the mind to be able to properly understand how to go about the many life situations from writing a resume, to doing your taxes, to performing your job, to simply cooking dinner or setting goals.
I mostly either have worked with those who are in high school or in elementary school. Half of the time they have a disability (dyslexia, dysgraphia or ADHD) or are just trying to pass their class and the students in high school usually want to bring up their GPA or trying to get better at it in efforts for the SAT.
Start off locally (within a 20 mile radius) and find 4 tutors you feel like are really trustworthy by reviewing their profile and actually emailing or calling them. When you do contact them, tell them your goal and how much help you need. Then ask them "how can they help you?" If it sounds good to you try a with either 1 or 2 of the 4.
If neither were good see if you would be willing to go outside of the radius or if your fine with doing it online.
I recently have helped my mom who suffers with a reading disability. She had a really hard time with a very large project and it was giving her a hard time. So basically, she kept overreading everything and winded up doing the complete opposite of the assignment and I had to show her what to do. In the end I felt good that I was able to do something for my mom that really gave her a hard time and she ended up getting an A.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
How do you evaluate each students needs?
On average, how long does it take you to prepare the lesson?
What are my weaknesses and strengths?
Identify the main thing I'm most good at and the main thing I'm the worst at.
What lessons have I done the best in?
What should I spend more time studying?
How do I approach my work such as when it comes to grammar, critical thinking, reading and writing?
