About Marissa
I'm a high school senior so I know what it's like to be in school, and what teachers today are looking for. I know the struggles of students and from my own hardships in education I make a great tutor.
I used to have a hard time understanding simple concepts in math but I forced myself to get better, and sharing my knowledge with others is so fufilling for me. I've been on the principal's honor roll every year since sixth grade, and I have lots of recognitions in French, reading, English, music, and American history.
I've been a student pretty much my whole life. I have had some kind of struggle in most subjects but have learned to overcome those struggles through rigorous study and reading. I've been a TA for several teachers and know how frustrating to feel behind.

I ask them what they enjoy about a subject, what strengths in that subject they know they have, where they think they have weaknesses, etc. I usually show students the steps behind solving a problem then walk them through it as many times as they need until they can solve something seamlessly on their own.
