About Monique

About Me

My name is Monique R. Mitchell. My birthdate is June 21, 1991. I am definitely a proud product of LISA FRANK & the infamous JUNIE B. JONES. I taught in the early education sector formally from the age of 19 to 22, with my associates degree. After obtaining my Bachelor’s degree I began working privately in Adult education and teacher preparation. I am a writer and a social media personality. I host several blogs/platforms for education, organized as Marlie Academies . I am currently en route to my final goal of PhD in Global Educational Leadership, with an add-on certificate in ABA, applied behavior analysis. I wish to have the ability to equip and lead teachers, while concurrently removing any barriers to learning that students may have.

Core Values

My core values are as follows; A sense of hope for all students, and to be humble (Sardar, 2019.)

My formal teaching career began within government funded programs. Via my work and experience working within poverty stricken communities, I grew a passion for serving TITLE I and ESOL students on a global platform. My core values shape me as a leader by encouraging me to believe that I myself first am capability of helping my students and their families reach academic success, as it is defined by their developmental age (not birth age.) As a leader it is crucial to believe in yourself. My core values also assist me in being compassionate and patient, while working with struggling families and or those unfamiliar to my natural background and environment.

During childhood, my family operated in home childcare facilities. As a child, I can remember completing new employee intake, and instructing new employees from as early as ten years of age, regarding what steps to take in regards to gaining their state required hours to work in childcare. I have always possessed a niche for leading and teaching the teacher. During my undergraduate studies I worked as a writing coach. Due to an overwhelming response and writing appointment requests specifically for me, the writing professors would request me to attend their classes alongside them. An additional leadership strength of mine is cutting the breading as I refer to it. At this time, I work primarily with Adults returning to school, and older teachers whom are working to adapt to modern statutes. During both lessons and advising, I always have a three step or less strategy ready to provide, versus a long drawn out plan. I am available to my students and families 24 hours per day. “All humans are capable of achieving optimal academic success. It is the responsibility of the teacher / educator to ensure that students learn and develop into their maximum potential.

My family owned childcare facilities all of my life. My mother was a middle school teacher and my Grandfather was an English professor.

I am currently working on my PhD in educational leadership and policies and I also specialize in autism.

About the lesson

My first goal in working with students is to build trust. I get to know the students' dislikes and dislikes. Secondly, I assess the student and identify their learning style.

I have worked with every type of student. My first position was with the head start program. I then went on to teach for Juvenile. My most recent teaching is within the role of adult writing coach.

Ensure that the teacher is suitable for your learning style. Ensure that the teacher is experienced in simplifying learning and teaching you new concepts versus assisting you in getting by on an assignment.

A recent even that I was fond of was my daughters sixth birthday. Each birthday I integrate a massive story time and finish the birthday party with a large group Q&A my passion is for helping as many people fall in love with learning as possible.
