About Katarina
I am a 20-year old language nerd who has a passion for education. Weather it is English, German or Swedish, reading, writing or grammar, I will happily help.
After almost 14 years of studying for quizzes, tests or presentations, I have developed exellent study techniques as well as skills regarding how to prioritize and efficiantly accomplish goals. Great communication, hard work and organizational skills are among my strengths. Most importantly though, I truly believe that education is the key to making the world a better place.

Educational work is always valuable. You are not only helping a student to pass a quizz or test, but also preparing them for the future. As previously mentioned, I believe that education is the key to making the world a better place. Helping students learn about different subjects, allowing them to discover what they enjoy the most, will in turn lead them to develop these interests into educational paths. Seeing this development and transformation, is what I enjoy the most.
I have grown up in an academic environment with a mother who is an English teacher, and a father who studied language, literature and political science at the University. Therefore, education has always been a big part of my life, which has lead me to become a very successful student as well.
So far I have helped younger siblings and neighbour kids with their homework. In addition to this, I have been a classroom assistant at the University of Minnesota.

First of all, I want to get to know them a little. Meet, talk, I ask about their interests, what school they are at, what level, what subjects etc.
The next step is to discuss the actual school work. What kind of help do they need? How much? When? Do we have a set goal (ex: a test or quizz) or is general improvement desired?
The last step is to make a plan for when we meet, what we do, and what we want to have accomplished at a certain point.
My general feeling is that the easiest way forward is to simply talk to each other and together decide what works best for the individual student.
If you are hesitating, give the tutor a call or write an email. It is always easier if there is discussion ivolved. That way you can determine if it is a fit or not. It is fine if it is not, so do not be affraid to ask.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
-What subjects they need help with.
-What kind of school work it would be.
-What hours.
