About Chassidy
As a student currently studying to be an English teacher in college, I am passionate about giving other kids the opportunity to love reading, writing, and literature as much as I do. My goals are always to promote growth and understanding in difficult subject matters, which is possible for any and all students.
In high school, I took AP and Honors English classes all 4 years, and they were some of the best, albeit challenging, years I've had as a student so far.
I am currently a student at Columbia College in Chicago studying English; however, in Fall of 2022 I will be transferring to DePaul University in Chicago to further pursue teaching accreditations at the high school level.
I hope I can connect with students in need of the extra push to get them to love and appreciate English as much as me!

My typical process for working with a new student begins with addressing the students goals, and grasping an understanding of what they want to learn.
Teaching doesn't happen unless a student is open to learning, so coming in with goals is really important!
I then like to make a "to-do list" of specific targets we want to be able to hit, and have a firm understanding of, by the end of our time together. Working through that to-do list and addressing needs individually, then putting them all together at the end is the key to success.
Look for teachers who are passionate about what they are trying to teach. Expertise is very important, obviously, but a passion to teach English along side the knowledge that they have will get you really far in enjoying your experience. You will take a lot more out of what you're learning when it's being taught by someone who cares.
