About Therese
As a current college student with 1 year of tutoring experience, K-8 material is still relevant and fresh in my mind. I have only officially worked with college students so far, but am trained to work with students K-8. I start by getting to know each student individually and establishing their personal goals before writing out a plan. I will provide an in-depth explanation for students who wish to understand the material on a deeper-level and short, clear answers for those that are under a time constraint. I encourage parent feedback to help the student succeed as much as possible. My goal is to help the student not only succeed academically but also to learn more about themselves and develop their self-confidence.
I have a high school diploma and am currently studying to receive my bachelor's degree at a four-year university.

I will first ask what the student is looking for in a tutor and whether they require homework help or clarification on specific topics. Then I will assess where the student is based on their responses. After assessing them, I will determine which areas need extra attention.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I think that a child should always ask their teachers for help without any delay because that is the best way to get the best help possible. The one question I would ask though is "by not asking for help, am I benefitting myself in any way?"
