About Jaina

I am not only a teacher, but a mom as well! I graduated in the spring of 2020 with a degree in Elementary Education. Due to Covid, I am keeping my 2 boys at home and which makes it hard for me to get a job in the schools! I am patient, flexible, and I love teaching!

I have only taught in a classroom for 3 months during my time student teaching. I was able to finish out the school year teaching 4th graders online.

I love watching kids learn! 😊 I also enjoy just getting to help a child whenever possible. Whether it's just being there for them or helping them with schoolwork!

I wanted to be a teacher from the time I was in elementary school as a student! My teachers were wonderful and heroic in my eyes! I graduated from high school and my mom told me I shouldn't be a teacher because they don't make enough money. I listened to her and decided to go into nursing. I didn't like it. I took a break from college, got married, and had my first son. I loved watching him learn and grow, and that's when I decided it was time to start my journey to becoming a teacher!

I graduated from the University of Wisconsin Superior in May of 2020. I am also a mom to a child in 2nd grade as well as a child in Pre-K. I have done school training in many different grade level classrooms. I do not yet have my teaching license for the state of MN, but it is in the works!

About the lesson

I have never done this before, so I am asking for patience! 😊

I would like to do an online meet just to chat and get to know a student before starting the tutoring! I feel as though it would be important to establish some comfort even if we are just working online! I want any student of mine to know I am there for them to help in any way! I would then like to do some reading with them online to see where their levels are at. This will help me to determine the best ways to work with the student and to see what we need to work on!

Many types! I have worked with students in grades Pre-K all the way to 5th grade. I have worked with kids who have IEPs, struggling readers, as well as gifted students.

When I finished student teaching, my students sent me a letter in the mail. They wrote down ways that I had helped them in the classroom. Both in the physical and online classroom.
