About Erika
I have always had a passion for English and writing. As I grew up I noticed that a lot of people didn't fully understand how to excel in English classes. I am here to help anybody who is struggling with an assignment or needs to learn how to understand an English section better.
I love being able to help others because writing is somewhat hard to master but once you fall into the habit of it, you begin to get better and better at it. People that I tutor then begin to write more and I love being able to watch more people come up with new ideas and put them into words on a paper.
I always helped peers who didn't seem to understand what I did.
I have been writing for as long as I can remember. I took extra English courses in school for the sole purpose of learning more about the subject and improving my skills. I always excelled in written assignments and was even asked to help classmates who were not understanding the concepts.

When I am matched with a new student, I like to ask them a few questions on what they are struggling with and how I can help. After we discuss the issue, I then begin to build a simple and effective way of explaining or showing them an easier way to understand or work with the subject.
I have worked with students around my age, younger than me, and even older than me. I am willing to work with anyone who is in need of help.
Speak with the teacher before you decide if you want them to tutor you or not. Sometimes people can only work at a certain time and schedules won't match up so it could be difficult to find a good time. Also, some teachers are not lenient in price ranges and you could end up paying more than you would have liked for a tutor session that may or may not be helpful. Lastly, choose a tutor who specializes in the subject that you are wanting to be tutored in.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What exactly do they need to learn and is there a deadline? If you have an assignment that is due in a week and you don't understand the concept, make sure that your teacher knows about the amount of time they have to teach the topic to you. Also, make sure that you have a set price in mind and try your hardest not to exceed that price unless you absolutely have to.

She was very helpful
Erika helped me when I was having trouble with a creative writing assignment. I’m not very creative when it comes to making up my own stories so I was having a tough time finishing the project. Erika helped me by telling me to think of something that I want to happen in the future or I wish had happened in the past, change my name, and write the story. She also told me that if that didn’t work for me, I could use my most recent dream to write about. After her help I found it really easy to make up stories and I even started writing more.
She tutored me for poetry because I could not understand anything that I was reading and writing poems was even harder. She got the idea across to me in a small amount of time. The way she explained the topics to me were very simple and easy to follow. I ended up getting a very high grade on my poetry section in english class, mainly thanks to her!

My pricing for tutor sessions are absolutely flexible and I am willing to negotiate on a price based upon the student's needs. I would say a base price for most tutoring sessions would likely be $5/hr but that could be very likely to change.
