About Amy
At Healthy Minds Ed Coaching, the emphasis is always on general mental wellbeing. I believe all students have the capability to suceed in reading and writing, and I'm willing to put in the effort to find out what works best for you or your child.
By utilizing a strengths-based, holistic approach to my educational coaching, I offer students the opportunity to be self-reflective and build life skills as well as succeed in their academic endeavors. I incorporate mindfulness practice and low-stakes writing into my instruction to help students ease their learning anxiety and thrive.
To share my love of reading and writing while also helping people understand their strengths is a great honor.
I have 12+ years experience in education and social work. Positions I’ve filled include, tutor, museum educator, admissions counselor, student services coordinator, therapeutic counselor, academic advisor, and adjunct instructor. I have found that I am happiest when my work allows me to combine my passion for education with my counseling and empathy skills.
With a Master’s degree in English, my academic accomplishments have served my mission of teaching effective communication and critical thinking. I believe that emotional and intellectual intelligence must be in balance for professional and personal growth and progress.
