About Marwa
Hello! My name is Marwa, and I hope to help you with your language learning. A little about my language-learning journey is that I was born in New York, but my family is originally from Egypt, so I grew up speaking Arabic at home and learned English in school. In college, I became interested in the Japanese language and took four semesters of Japanese classes, so I understand what it means to be a language learner. In my lessons, I plan to focus on listening and speaking skills, since I feel that’s where many language learners find themselves struggling the most. I think too often language learning largely focuses on reading and writing skills, especially in the traditional classroom setting, leaving students struggling to converse in English with native speakers outside the classroom. So, if your goal is to become more confident when talking with native English speakers, I would ask you to consider joining a session with me. My goal is to get you to speak English in a way that you can apply to your everyday life. If you choose to take lessons with me, we will talk about and explore topics you’re interested in and I will work to help make you more confident in your listening and speaking skills so that you can interact meaningfully with English speakers.
