About Edina
Coach Edina has over 10 years of volunteer coaching experience at the club and high school, and collegiate level. She enjoys working with players one-on-one who want to take their volleyball career to the professional level by incorporating cardiovascular and strength training, along with technical volleyball training (including form correction and strategic plays).
Coach Edina has over 20 years of playing experience. At age 6 she joined her first school of volleyball, and as a 6’1’’ tall teen she began to stand out on the court. At age 16 she began to play at a premier league level of Bosnia and Herzegovina and was one of the youngest players for a senior-level team in the city of Tuzla. She briefly played at a NCAA level at University of Texas at San Antonio, and retired early from professional volleyball career in order to shift her focus on academics and a career in business. Nowadays Edina plays recreatively at a regional level, both indoor and beach volleyball.
Edina believes that if you truly want to be great at something, you have to dedicate significant amount of time and put a lot of work into it. Volleyball is a great team sport, it’s fun and an amazing way to build collaborative skills that are transferable to any situation or career down the road. Even though it is a team sport, you as an individual player should strive to work on your weaknesses, build on your strengths, and train hard each day.
