Depending on whether it's a virtual or in person lesson I like to introduce myself and tell my student about my guitar experience and try and get to know the student. Then depending on the student and how they learn, I either let them watch and then try, or I show them while they try. Either way we both have a guitar and I don't stop until progress is made.
