About Emily
I love history, and I love helping others. Put those together, and I love teaching history! I would love to help you with your homework, help you write your essays, explain the materials to you, and study for your state exams. I tutored student athletes for the University of Houston as an undergraduate student, and then taught US History for 6 years in Texas, specializing in helping students pass their state STAAR US History exam and working with students who struggled with learning disabilities.
I have a bachelor's degree in history with a minor in education from the University of Houston, Honors College, and graduated summa cum laude. I am certfied to teach social studies, grades 7-12, in Texas.

I will ask some questions to determine what it is that they need help with. If it is a specific assignment, I will read over the instructions and rubrics to help them more. If it is in general understanding the materials, I will take the time to explain it to them in a way that makes sense for them. If it is studying for an exam, I will work to make study materials and practice questions for them.
