About Dezarae
I am a USFSA certified/licenced Coach. I have over 16 years of figure skating experience. I was a competitive figure skater for 9 years. I am a MITF Gold Medalist. I do annual coaching test through PSA to keep my certifications and knowledge up to date. I am also licensed through USFSA, Learn to Skate USA & SafeSport complient.
I offer individual ice skating lessons as well as small groups! I work with all ages from 2 years old all the way up to adults of all ages! I love teaching any age skater, and any skater of any skill level!
There is no commitment necessary! If it is something you just want to try to see how you like it, I offer intro lessons. All lessons are customized to the skills of the students. I also offer tips and tricks to enhance your skills on/off the ice! In addition I offer off ice training lessons for all levels! Its never too early to start training your muscles for your on ice elements.
If you do enjoy the lessons, I am more than happy to keep you as a consistent skater!
I love working with clients individually becasue I meet a lot of wonderful people and get to build connections with them. My students feel like friends after a couple of lessons!
I also love helping my students reach their goals and really enjoy being there to motivate them through the process!
I honestly love everything about my job, it never feels like work. Ever since I started skating, I never wanted to stop. & I love introducing this sport to others!

With all new students, I like to start with the basics. Even if the skater has previously taken lessons, I like to review any skills they have to check for accuracy, technique, or find any areas that need more practice. This inital review helps me find the skaters strenghts or weaknesses. Based off the first lesson, I can gauge where to start the next few lessons and create beneficial lesson plans for the skater. After every lesson, I will let the skater and parent know what needs to be practiced on ice and also show reccomended exercises to do off ice, to enhance the skater's on ice performance. I always encourage the skater and parents to ask me any questions at any time! The more the skater and parents are informed, the better!
