About Becca
My name is Beccca Kirby, and I am currently finishing up my senior year in Computer Science at Auburn University. After years of helping my younger sister and the children of our family friends, I have decided to take tutoring to a more professional level. My freshman year of college I tutored at a local public school where I also taught a weekly spanish course to fifth graders. While my degree has a more technical focus, I have spent years in math and stem courses. I participate in a number of out reach programs throughout the school year, and one of my passions is helping young girls navigate the stem world. It is crucial that all children know that they are capable of doing anything that interests them. I believe that passion can be found in the most unlikely of places and that any child can achieve their goals with the proper guidance. In addition to being a student, I also founded and coached a youth springboard diving program in my local area. After three years of hard work, I had two divers compete in the AAU Diving National Championships this past year. From coaching I have learned that with persistent encouragement, drive, and the proper foundation, a young child can achieve whatever they set their mind to. There is nothing more satisfying than the smile on a child's face when they achieve what they previously deemed "impossible".
