About Tejas
As a high school senior in the Science, Math, and Computer Science magnet program at Poolesville High School, I have dealt with learning mathematics from pre-algebra to Calculus BC. I have seen the concepts my peers have struggled to learn over the years, and the best ways to explain concepts to middle and high school students. I have experience in teaching mathematics and programming (Python and Java) as I run free classes at the Germantown library as part of my position as the school robotics captain. I have been teaching for about 2 years now, and encountered a variety of students and subjects: from US Government to Calculus to Python. This past summer I was a research intern at the Johns Hopkins Medical School where I developed a deep learning algorithm using R and Python to discover a new biological process in a mouse spleen.
