About Matthew
I've been tutoring since 2013, mostly focusing on ACT and SAT prep. I achieved a 36 on the ACT and a 2270 on the SAT, while also becoming a National Merit Finalist. I've helped dozens of students meet and exceed their goals on these college prepatory exams, some even increasing their ACT scores by as many as 8 points. I also served as a tutor and teacher's assistant in college for a variety of courses in the economical, financial, and mathematical fields. I have recently become certified in ESL training and I want to use my passion of helping others to lead you to excel in your academic pursuits
I enjoy the look on a student's face when they first understand a new concept.
My mom was a public school teacher and I first started teaching by assisting her students through tutoring. Afterwards, they referred their friends to me, and I continued tutoring.
I have received a bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Math, and Management Information Systems, along with a minor in Chinese from Baylor University. I have tutored since 2013 and served as a college tutor and teacher's assistant at Baylor.

I first want to ask the student what their specific goals are in receiving tutoring. After creating a guideline for how to efficiently achieve those goals, I'll provide study materials (if the student does not already have some) and we will work through the materials, so I can gauge the student's strengths and weaknesses in the subject matter. Sessions after this will include the student working through materials beforehand and us going over the material together, along with any questions the student may have.
I've worked with students as young as elementary age to as old as college age and every age group in-between
Be prepared to learn a lot very quickly. I generally like to keep my sessions efficient so the students don't feel like they're using too much extra time to learn the material. My job is to simplify the process, not complicate it.
