About Daniel
Due to my age, I totally understand how hiring me might seem like a shot in the dark. However, as someone who knows the school system in and out and the material that teachers are required to give, I know exactly how to get a student through a class. I even know the AP and honors system, as almost every class I've ever taken has been preAP or AP. I'm a huge math nerd and understand kids, as I'm still a young person myself. Also, I'm neurodivergent and completely understand the value in catering to each individual student so that they learn the best. My end goal is always to help a kid like math but even if that doesn't work, my main priority is to help them overcome whatever area they're struggling in. Even though I'm a beginner tutor, I'm incredibly enthusiastic and am ready to work!
The thing I enjoy the most is seeing a student improve. Whether they are more motivated to study, pass more tests, or realize their best learning method, any improvement is fantastic and shows me that I'm doing my job. The more advancement I see, the more proud I get because everyone deserves to have a good learning experience and to feel acomplished!
I have 3 cousins who are 8 to 12 years younger than me and I've always loved helping them with their schoolwork. In 8th and 9th grade, I used to volunteer to literally teach the lessons in math class if the students weren't understanding. However, starting 3 years ago, I worked with one of my school's math teachers and tutored lots of underclassman in several subjects. I've wanted to do teaching as a real job ever since!
My favorite subject in school has always been math. I've taken Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and AP Calculus AB where I earned an A in each class. Though I have no professional experience in tutoring, I've tutored underclassman for the last 3 years in several math subjects going back to the elementary level.

I really try to get to know the student first so that I can make a customized tutoring plan. Each person learns differently and I do my best to cater to any specific needs. Once I understand the best way to help a student learn, we'll figure out where they're struggling in the subject and go from there!
I've mainly worked with students who have a hard time understanding math. In school, and especially in the public system, teachers don't often cater to each student's needs and so many kids go without having a good understanding of math. No matter the age, level of math, preferred method of teaching, etc., I've tutored whatever kids need a little bit of help!
I would advise that you get to know the teacher before hiring them. It's very important that you and the teacher have compatible personalities, goals, and values so that you actually look forward to the lessons. Finding the right teacher that understands you and will cater to how your brain learns might even make you like math or whatever subject you're struggling with.
It's not super recent but at the end of January, I saw my family for the first time in about 2 years. My cousins, who were once a quarter of my size and in the beginning of elementary school, were too heavy for me to lift and going into 5th grade! They told me all about school, their friends, and new games they've tried and I realized how much time had flown by. My second youngest cousin has better hand writing than me and my first youngest was reading a highschool level rock encyclopedia. I really enjoyed seeing them after so long but it felt like we were never parted.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I think the main question you should ask yourself is why you're struggling in math, or whatever the subject might be. Are you a visual learner? Maybe you do fine just reading from a textbook? If your teacher isn't using methods that work for you as a student, you should tell them your needs so that you can understand the material better. It should be their job to help you learn the best. If you realize that you simply don't like math and are unmotivated to study, you'll just have to power through the class and hope for the best. However, it never hurts to talk to your teacher.

I hated math and my class and wasn't prepared for a preap class. Daniel used games to teach and helped me with extra credit. I had better grades in class and knew how to talk to my teachers better by the end.
I went to school with Danny and I came 30 mins early just for tutoring. He was intimidating at first because I am 5 years younger but he always made me feel smart. Other teachers would just solve problems for me but he actually helped me prepare for tests so I could get better grades.

I would like to have a trial session with each student first to see if I'm a good fit for them, which is totally free. For any elementary or middle school level subject, I'd price at $15/hour. For any highschool level subject, I'd price at $20/hour. For any AP or honors prep, rates may change a little bit depending on the subject. However, if your family has any specific circumstances and needs a different price I'm always open to discuss. Just let me know!
