About Ady
I got started when one day a parents teacher out to me saying my math teacher recommended me as a tutor for her 7th grade daughter. From there I put my information out there to different teachers/counselors and it spread by word of mouth.
I am a freshman at UCI but have taken every advanced class available and have made it through multi variable calc so far. I however have never taken a stats class, but love algebra and calculus! I have tutored over 13 students already from ages 10 to 17 in a variety of classes. I have no formal training, however I thurougly understand the subject and have been told that I have a way of explaining things that helps it to finally click with the students.

When I get a new student I like to go over their grades and just start from where they are going over some problems from their notes or homework for I can get a feel for how they approach it and where they are at. I prefer for them to being their notes and homework for the sessions so that we can focus on the specific problems their teacher has assigned and go from there.
I have worked with many different students from a 10 year old in 4th grade math to a 17 year old in PreCalc and almost everything in between. The only thing I would not be comfortable with would be anything past high school or Stats, since I have never taken that class.
I would say that you should always bring your homework and notes, or test/quiz, for the day/week. I have had students expect me to just provide math, but it always works better when I can help them improve at specifically what their teacher is looking for. Also never be insecure about not knowing something. I am there to help out, so please don't pretend it makes sense if it doesn't, we can just go over it again in a new way so that you are comfortable with the material.
A recent event I am fond of would be when a parent told me that she is very thankful not only for helping her daughter understand math but for the confidence I have given her as well. Her daughter wasn't a great test taker and had some anxiety in that department, and it meant a lot to me to hear that I was able to help her improve even in that sense.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
They should think through whether they want help more in the test category or the comprehension. I have had some students who are rather bright, but just cannot seem to take a test well. It is great to know what the students actually want help improving in, so please ask about the certain things you want help in.

Ady is one of the sweetest and most patient people! She shows new strategies, along with going directly like how the teacher shows if needed. Ady is flexible and very understanding if something comes up. I am very thankful, and I can say that my math grade has improved because of her help.
She helped me walk through everything step by step which I felt like is very helpful. She also showed what I did wrong and help me remember the things to help me remember things that were difficult for me to remember.

My pricing system varies depending on whether I am going to be driving to the student or whether it is online and what class they are taking. For online elementary math I charge $25/hour. For AP Calc driving to the student it would be $40. The starting price is $25 an hour and goes up depending on the difficultly of the class and whether or not I am expected to drive.
