About Emily
I love teaching! I love being able to share what I’ve learned with other students. I understand how hard working in a math class can be, and I love being able to make it a little easier for students to succeed.
I’ve been working with the BYU math department for two semesters, and am familiar with their calculus and algebra courses, I’ve also taken AP Calculus BC and received a 5 on the exam, and am familiar with the exam requirements and style of testing.

I am here to help with what the student needs! If they have specific questions, I will usually answer those and address related concepts they may be struggling with. If they don’t have specific concerns I often help students work through assignments, testing what they know, and stepping in when they are confused and need help.
I have worked mostly with college students at BYU looking to pass Calculus 1 and 2, but also helped with College Algebra and Trigonometry courses. I’ve also worked with high school students doing trigonometry, and Pre calculus courses.

They were so helpful. With how quickly college classes move the tutors were able to help close the gap in understanding.
Emily has been an outstanding tutor that has helped me on multiple occasions. She teaches in a way that is clear and simple for me to follow and focuses on understanding the principles instead of just finding the right answer. 10/10 as far as tutors go.
She was very patient and made sure I knew the topic before moving on. She would provide extra problems to test me and help me learn and feel confident in my abilities.
The tutor was amazing, she was able to simply and clearly explain to me how to work out the problems in a way I could understand. The overall experience was a great one, I felt like all the questions I had were valid questions that she could explain.
