About Susan
I have been teaching math for more than 40 years now. I have a way of reaching students and helping them understand difficult concepts that they struggle with. I convert math haters to students who think math is ok. I help remove a student's fear and dislike of math. I love teaching.
I have always been a teacher. I used to help other students learn while in elementary school. I have just always had a way of being able to explain things. I enjoy teaching people new things and helping others understand new concepts.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Mathematics Education. I graduated magma cum laude with a Master's Degree in Instruction and Curriculum.

I generally assess a students weaknesses and work on those. I also work on their current assignments as well so they don't fall behind at school.
I prefer 3rd grade and higher for the age group. But I have worked with multinational students, students with learning disabilities and students who just don't want to learn. I think getting through to the ones that just don't want to do it are my favorites though. The one's who think they can't and I show them they can. I boost their confidence in themselves. It is priceless to me.
Make sure they are teachers not just good at math. You need a teacher. Someone who can explain the concepts, not just do the work.
I love teaching and working with students. I am working with an adult learner and when she understands something she has been struggling with, there is that moment of ahhhh, I get it that is just irreplaceable to me!

Perfect! Susan is a phenomenal tutor. She has been helping me study for my college placement exams and she has exceeded all my expectations for what an online tutor be like. She quickly adapts to my preferred speed of learning and will go over a subject as may times as necessary (with me that can be a lot) with the patients of an angel!! She is very kind, knowledgeable, and funny. I will continue to utilize Susan as a resource for both myself and my children, as well as refer her out to anyone I know is in need. Perfect! We hired Susan to help our daughter Caidyn with Geometry. Susan made her feel comfortable and worked hard to make sure she understood her lessons.
