About Candice
What I provide in my tutoring is first off, I love what I do. It’s not just been my job for the last 17 years, but more my career, my life. I am very versatile, flexible, and adapt to anything and each individual as a whole. I have loads of enthusiasm, motivation and I am prepared for any difficulties thrown my way. I am empathetic when it comes to needing a little extra help with different areas in school because I had trouble learning myself when I was younger. I listen to every question and/or concern you may have and I will work with you at your own pace, find ways to help you learn, and will remain positive with much patience as we work together. Everyone has their own way of learning, so I will work with you, with your own learning style, to make it as comfortable and fun as possible. I absolutely love my job, love children, teaching, and watching the progress and growth of all my students. I look forward to helping you learn!
I enjoy helping students to improve their education, enhance their skills, and achieve more progress in their life. Tutoring not only helps the student's confidence but also helps yours. It’s a big step towards encouraging someone who wants to learn. I have so much love for children that it drew me to teaching. I enjoy getting to know my learners and to learn about life from their perspective. It brings me such a sense of joy to gain insight into their views and opinions about life. I can confidently say that I have learned as much from my learners as they have learned from me.
Aside from taking the required classes to receive my teaching certification, I also am Director I certified. I was also employed previously with children who had behavioral and learning delays, autism, as well as down syndrome.

Prior to scheduling sessions, I like to meet with the student and/or parent(s) because we work hand in hand to build your specialized plan of action. I will ask questions like, what is the subject you need help with, your age, and what grade you’re in. I will explain how lessons will work and how sessions are different from school. I will let each child know it will be more like a conversation, to stop me when they don’t understand something, and to ask questions whenever they need to. I will work on the areas they struggle with, as that will help them the most and answer any questions they might have about how it will work. I am always positive about their correct answers and their wrong answers. When they make a mistake, my response would be, ‘Okay, that’s great. You’ve got that one wrong, so that’s something we can definitely help you get better at.’ This will help them with confidence knowing that it’s normal to make mistakes because we all do.
