About Melanie
Hello! My name is Melanie, I am a junior at UCLA majoring in Mechanical Engineering. I am looking for in-person or remote science/math tutoring positions for elementary-highschool students.
I have taken Algebra2/ Trigonometry, Geometry, AP Calc 1&2, AP Stats, AP Chemistry, as well as college level Chemistry, Physics, Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra and Differential equations.
I would say my best subjects are Algebra 2, Trigonometry, Physics and Calculus of any level. If you have something in particular your student is struggling with, I am more than willing to research the subject in depth to prepare for tutoring sessions.
I have a lot of experience with kids babysitting and nannying, and would love to make learning more fun and straightforward for kids!
I enjoy learning in general, especially concrete subjects like math and sciences. It is also really gratifying to see a student being to really understand a concept.
I have taken extensive math classes, both at an AP and college level that have utilized a strong background in basic math principles. I have also struggled with complex math concepts and sought help. By being tutored myself I learned how difficult things can get broken down into easier bits of information. This made me a better student, and hopefully a better tutor.
