About Katie
I have a Master's degree in Atmospheric Science from NC State University, a Graduate Certificate in Secondary Science Education from UNC-Charlotte and 7-8 years of total cumulative teaching experience at the middle school, high school & undergraduate college levels. I am very passionate about teaching, tutoring and helping students enjoy the learning process. I do everything I can to make the learning process fun, so that students can better retain the information they are learning and enjoy it along the way! :-)
I LOVE seeing the lightbulb go on once a student figures out how to correctly solve a math or a science problem! It is so rewarding to see the joy in their face once they have finally figured out the solution to a problem! Learning should be fun! :-)

My typical process for working with a new student involves getting to know him/her through basic background introductions, interests, etc. Then, figuring out what learning style(s) works best for him/her (visual, kinesthetic/hands-on or auditory). This will give me a better idea of the best possible individualized tutoring plan.
