I am a college senior who is an applied mathematics major. I am very competent in Middle School. High School and early College Level maths.
I am a private tutor with very little time restrictions and very affordable. I am readily available to help any student learn new and challenging topics that otherwise are difficult when faced alone. I worked at college level as a Teaching Assistant / Supplementary Instructor for PreCalculus/ MTH151 for 2.5 years. I since moved away from the TA position to focus on individual student learning as I felt my services were more tailored for small sessions and one one tutoring. I am very passionate about math (I know weird right!?) and I really enjoy helping students find their "Aha!" moment. I've personally worked with classrooms of students who admitted they had no idea what PreCalculus was and have seen what it takes to transform these students into A+ easy breezy math takers. I'm here to give you all the secrets, knowledge, and tailored education specific to your learning style that I have collected over my past 4 years at college.
I can teach new material, help give guidance to students that need a push in the right direction, or simply work on the type of problems you bring to me. This is YOUR tutoring not mine, so tell me how you want it! I am very flexible on hours and types of math material.

I am a Senior at Virginia Commonwealth University studying Applied Mathematics and minoring in Computer Science.
I've always been very passionate about math and quite enjoy teaching students and helping those who find math to be the worst!
I worked at Virginia Commonwealth University for 2.5 years as a PreCalculus Teaching Assistant/ Supplementary Instructor who guided students through selected math material and held study sessions and test reviews. I since moved away from the TA to focus more on individual student learning as I feel I'm better suited to be a personal tutor than a general helper for large size classes.
I know Math SUCKS! Otherwise tutors like me wouldn't exist! So let's break it down and get you through that class with a pass!

From Beginning To End:
Firstly I establish a friendly conversation, introduce myself, and choose a subject material to focus on.
Next I like to ask students whether we are practicing or studying for a test or exam. Depending on the level of material the student already knows I may suggest different approaches like repitition of practice problems with walkthroughs, or trying new problem sets and advancing to new material if the student is gaining confidence.
No two students are the same or learn the same for that matter and that's why I try to personally tailor my teaching to whatever learning approach the student feels most comfortable with. This can range from walkthroughs to visual learners to auditory learners or even the type of resource we use to study (study guide, homework, videos, flash cards, etc.). Whatever it may be I always give my students the lead role in deciding how to spend their tutoring time most effectively. ( I will always take lead support when students require more rigidity or don't know where to begin).

I am fairly new to personally tutoring and I don't have a concrete pricing system down yet but I gurantee I will be affordable because I'm trying to compete with other tutors and give the best offer. Im in college struggling just like everyone else so if you need a cheap tutor that is flexible and understands what it means to be overwhelmed then you've found the right one.
