If the first way that she explained a concept didn't click with me, she had many other ways that she could explain it, demonstrating her understanding of the material. Kristen is hands down the best tutor that my daughter has ever worked with. My 8 year old daughter, Jenna, had struggled with math her entire life. She has had numerous tutors but still struggles to grasp concepts that her peers seemed to be picking up in seconds. Since we are spending some extra time at home together, I figured I would see if she could get some extra math help. After Jenna's first session with Kristen she came out with more enthusiasm than I had seen in quite a long time. After Kristen had left our house Jenna could not stop talking about what she learned. Jenna has always loved animals so much that she has a difficult time focusing on anything else during class. After Jenna said this, Kristen came up with a plan to learn math through animals! Jenna learned more than she had all year through counting guinea pigs, rabbits, horses, and dogs. It was truly heartwarming for me, as a mother, to see. Hopefully now she will realize that when she brings home new animals, the total number in our house goes up... She is excited to learn about subtraction next week!
