About Noah
I taught 7th grade math for the past three years in a high performing Indianapolis Public Schools charter school where 100% of students receive free lunch, more than 95% graduate high school in four years and all graduates are accepted to four-year colleges or universities. My students often came from challenging backgrounds and require additional specialized support. I will be able to provide your child a level of support and commitment that most are not used to providing.
I currently live in San Francisco, where I work for an education nonprofit.
My students are and will always be what keeps me going back to work.
I have three years of experience working at a challenging school with students who need all different types of support, including special education accomodations, English as a Second Language support, and individualized behavior plans.
I also have a Masters in Education from Marian University, where many of my classes focused on designing rigorous, trauma-informed curriculum in urban public school settings.

The first thing I do is contact the family of the student to explain my goals, my approach and ask what specific supports will benefit that student most. From that point onward, I view my relationships with parents as partnerships to help their kids get what they want, on their terms.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out

* Did I draw a picture? Write an equation? Create a table or graph? Is there another way to make sense of this problem?
* What is my ultimate goal in advocating for myself through this conversation?
* What do I value in a teacher? In myself?
