About Joshua
I am an 8 year educational professional having taught both mathematics and special education. I absolutely love teaching math and watching students when they realize they understand a concept!
I love meeting different types of people and students. I like making connections with people and watching them grow on their mathematical journey.
I really enjoyed working with students and was good at math so I thought I would combine both aspects.
I have a bachelor's degree in mathematics and a master's degree in special education. I have been teaching both mathematics and special education for the past 8 years.

I like to meet the student and get to know them. I try to assess what they know or what they have been taught. We go through the notes, worksheet, or homework to see where they are at and where I can fill in the missing pieces. I try to find other ways to explain to them or have students watch a video that may explain it different than what I explained it. I try to have them do some practice to make sure they understand the concept being reviewed.
Anywhere from honors level to students with learning disabilities.
To find someone who can relate to you and can explain it to your level.
I just watch a student who did not think they had the ability to learn the laws of exponents learn the shortcuts and apply it to their test! They were so excited when they got an A!
