About James

I talk to and engage with students on thier level and change my teaching methods to meet the student where they are.

I love the smile on their faces when they get back that first good test result. I also love the twinkle of understanding they show when I am able to sucessfully explain a challenging concept to them.

I got started tutoring when a child that I was babysitting suddenly needed help with their math homework, and I found that i was quite good at helping them with it. From that I expanded my buisness to older children gradualy as my skill in mathematics and other subjects grew.

I am a college student and have been tutoring math for the last several years with students fo various ages and abliites so I am able to tutor a versitle assortment of students.

About the lesson

I will typically review a students past tests and homework, to determine where they are struggling and then build a plan for how to help them from there.

My expreience runns the gammut from small children aged 5 to older highschool studtens aged 17 is the oldest I've had the plesaure to educate. I also have experience teaching students with learning differences such as ADHD, ADD, and dislexia.

Find a teacher that is both profecent in the material but also has expreence teaching students with the specific issue that your child is facing. also fingding a teacher that meshes well with how your student learns or can adapt to do so would most benefit your student.

Details

For new online sessions with new students I typicaly charge $30/hr. I reccomend 2 hr sessions once or twice a week for struggling students and hour and a half sessions for students who just need help studying and getting homework done. For standardized test work i charge more depending on the test (SAT, SHSAT, AP tests, and the ACT)
