About Pratap
I am Pratap from Hyderabad, India. I have retired from the corporate rat race in IT, after working in that field for about 3 decades in Multinational companies, about five years ago. I am indulging since then in my passion, which happens to be mathematics, especially opening up the wonderful world of mathematics to high school children. I am aware of the curriculum of the different education boards of India, USA, Canada, UK and Australia.
I believe the basic underlying concepts behind every branch of mathematics needs to be explained to the student. Once the basic concepts are clear, solving problems is very easy. I stress on teaching the basic concepts of various branches of mathematics like number system, algebra, geometry, calculus, trigonometry etc. I also teach physics to high school students.
I have a collection of several problems which are aligned with the basic concepts in each mathematics concept. I go though the problems with the student and conduct periodic tests to access if the student has understood the concept and can solve problems. I also give assignments to the students and will update the parent about the progress the student is making.
I teach CBSE, GBSE, ICGSE, IB, SAT, ALGEBRA 1 AND 2, PRECALCULUS, TRIGONOMETRY AND GEOMETRY as prescribed by the various country boards.
I also introduce children to an entirely new way of looking at mathematics called Vedic Mathematics. You can refer to a video I have made in this regard at: (concealed information)
I am aware of the curriculum of various ISD's in the USA. I have the following students who are having coaching with me:
· Edmonton, Canada: 11th Grade and 8th Grade, Physics, Maths and Precalculus
· California, USA: 10th Grade, Algebra 2
· Michigan, USA: 9th Grade, Algebra 1 and 2
· Dallas, USA: 8th Grade, Algebra 1
· Hongkong: Grade 5
· Oxford, London: Year 8 and 9
I use collaborative tools like bitpaper.io and Skype for the digital classes and use digital pads and smart pens. I find the bitpaper.io application to be efficient and interactive for online courses.
The prerequisites at the student's end are:
· A laptop or desktop with chrome browser
· A good internet connection
· Active Skype Id (for establishing audio communications)
· A digital writing pad (Optional)
I can arrange for a demonstration of my teaching style at your convenience. This will enable me to access the standard of the student as well allow us to decide how compatible we both are with the online courses. Teaching maths to children is a passion for me and gives me immense pleasure.

I provide a demo class to ascertain the level of the student. This also provides a chance for the student to see if he is confortable with my teaching methods. I use bitpaper.io as a collaborative tool to conduct the classes. I have set up a digital classroom complete with digital pad and pen.
