About Sydney
I am passionate about helping people achieve their goals in school. For the past four years I have been tutoring my peers at Shenendehowa High School and through tutoring in math, science, and computer science classes I discovered my passion for teaching and decided to study education in college. I work at CodeNinjas, a business dedicated to teaching kids ages 7-14 how to program, giving me more expeirence in the education field.
I enjoy helping my students to reach their maximum potential and seeing the first time they fully understand what they are doing.
I began teaching when I realized how many students were being left behind on my robotics team due to a lack of a teaching program. I created a curriculum to teach basic Java to new students and have been peer tutoring and teaching the class I created since then.
I have been trained as a teacher at Code Ninjas and created a teaching program on my robotics team for unexperienced programmers.

When introduced to a new student I tell them about my life and teaching experiences to earn their trust and make the more comfortable around me. Then, I ask them questions about their school year and why they are starting tutoring to determine what type of help they need.
I have worked with students from ages 7-16, some of which have mental disabilities.
When looking for a teacher of any subject you must find someone who can relate to your interests and find at least three different ways to explain every question.
