About Ashley
I can tutor for the Math section of the Praxis for any future teachers preparing for the exam, for any K-12 level math classes, for the math section on the SATs, or for college courses up to Calculus 1. I am a Math and Special Education teacher which has given me the ability to break down complex mathematical processes into understandable steps.
I love working with students and helping them overcome their "mathphobia". It's easy to get lost in long processes, and I enjoy being able to help students understand those processes and build up their own confidence in math.
I've always wanted to be a teacher. I went to Rowan University and got my degrees in Math, Education, and Special Education.
I am a certified math teacher. I work in school where I teach math to grades 7-12.

I think it's really important to build a rapport and get an idea of what the student is looking for from tutoring. It's important to know what skills they hope to hone.
I have worked with students between grades 7-12, both with and without IEPs or exceptional learning needs.
I would encourage them to be specific about what math they want to work on. In middle school and high school, the curriculums will cover a variety of materials. It would also be important for them to think about whether they need help navigating a specific program so they can potentially seek out someone with experience with that program.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should ask themselves what skills they want to work on, how often they want to be meeting with a tutor, and what types of learning activities they feel have been helpful for their understanding in the past.
