About Alexis

I have a passion to see all students succeed. I am an elementary school teacher and know how difficult it is for each student to manage day-to-day topics on his or her own. As a certified teacher in the state of Florida, I am aware of what standards your child is held to and will accompany you and your child along the road to success!

Watching a student push through his or her struggles in order to reach the goal is one of the most rewarding feelings as a teacher. A student showing tenacity and true strength to not give up is the crowning moment for any educator.

I graduated with my Bachelor's of Science in Education in May 2016. My first year of teacher was 2016-2017 school year. I am currently enrolled in my graduate studies for a Master's in Education of Special Education.

I am a certified K-6 educator in the state of Florida.

About the lesson

As with any position, the parent must tell me what he or she would like to get out of the service. I need to know the reasoning for the tutoring to take place and what the hopeful outcome(s) is.

I like to meet with the new student to discuss his or her strengths and weaknesses. Having the student explain him or herself is key to understanding the confidence or lack thereof. Once I have been able to make a connection with the student, I am better equipped to help him or her in the learning process.

I have worked with many different types of students, Special Education and traditional schooling. All students learn differently, so as teachers we adapt to their own styles.

Be sure that the student and teacher have a good relationship and understanding of what is needed in order to benefit the student in the best possible way.

The student needs to identify what part of a lesson or concept is mostly confusing in order to address the issue.
