About Steve
I have been a professional photographer/teacher in Los Angeles for over twenty-five years and continue to make my living doing that here in Asheville NC. I am extraordinarily blessed to have a career doing something that I love and am passionate about. My experience and expertise in running a photography studio with both trainees and professionals on staff make me especially equipped to help both beginners and seasoned pros create better images. It gives me great satisfaction in helping students nurture and achieve their creative and photography ambitions by passing on information and techniques that I have learned over the years. I love taking landscape and nature photos but I have primarily made my living photographing people and events. You can see some of my work at

Everything! I have a passion for taking photos and love working with people. It's exciting and creative. I love the appreciation that I feel from my clients when they see that we have created something special for them. I am blessed to have made a good living doing something that I truly love to do.
I love to share the experience of creating photos. I have a passion to change people's lives for their betterment and open up doors for their success.
For thirty years I was owner of a photography studio that did many hundreds of photography gigs over the years. Our expertise was weddings, events, and personnel and professional portraits and headshots. I have been very fortunate to have worked with many celebrities and Politian’s including a POTUS. I have had exhibitions in Los Angeles, NY, and Santa Fe NM

We begin by discussing what my student wants to achieve from our photography lessons. Next, we discuss basic strategies and I create photo assignments to do between lessons. I will then critique your photos and explain what works and what needs improvement. Our lessons are based upon your progress in learning the initial fundamentals and then more advanced concepts of design and light. We will build experience, confidence, and expertise through constructive discussion, practice, and ultimately the creation of your desired images.
They all have one thing in common. They have a desire to learn and they love to take photos
Interview them. View their portfolio. Discuss all that they want to achieve and how the instructor is going to help them get to where they want to be. Hire someone that they feel that they can trust.
I photographed a birthday party for the family's matriarch. A 100-year-old woman that was physically fit and sharp as a tack.

Steve was an incredible teacher, I couldn't recommend lessons with him more. He has years of experience as a professional photographer and is therefore incredibly knowledgable. Not only did I learn a ton from him, but the entire experience so pleasurable: Steve's just got a great personality, he's very charismatic and has a great sense of humor, so it made the whole experience that much better. My skills have definitely improved, and perhaps more importantly, I feel a lot more confident in my photography.
