About Mark
My passion in photography is to seek, find, capture & share the beauty in life.
I have been shooting on a pro level since 2007.
I am a Google certified photographer, providing virtual tours of business. It is similar to Google Streetview, but I go INSIDE of businesses to create virtual tours for marketing purposes.
I was "Artist of the Month" twice for the Loveland Visitor Center.

I provided the annual calendar cover shot for the Fort Collins Cat Rescue in 2009.

My first step is to listen to what my students want to learn about. We will completely go over all of the camera's different modes, understanding when to use each mode for maximum value. We will go together on photo assignments to reinforce lesson material.
Composition is what makes a photo grab your attention. We will discuss when to use different composition techniques, based upon the goal of your photo session. The "Rule of Thirds" is my personal favorite composition technique. It is incredibly easy to use & makes your pictures grab your viewers attention with interest. Once you learn it, you will see it used in many different images.
In addition to camera functions, I feel post production just as valuable to create beautiful images. I will show you how to crop, adjust, and make the most out of your new images, prior to printing or displaying on the web. How to find inexpensive software to edit your final photos in & how to use that software.
Look at the portfolio of the instructor to see if those images are the type of photos you want to learn how to create.
One thing I have learned about photographers in general, is they are not always good at communicating to others. Most of them are "Lurkers". They are good at observation, but sometimes lack social skills & the ability to share their knowledge with others.
Talk with any instructor you are considering, to see if they are at ease, while communicating with you as a potential student. A good teacher will make you feel at ease, while giving you excitement about learning from them.
