About John
Question= What did the five fingers say to the student
???
Answer= Request a quote right now! You don't have time to look at the entire 'Liszt' of teachers !!!
What I enjoy most about the piano=
The opportunity to show my students what sounds & ideas they can create from the piano; sounds that are their own; sounds that have meaning and purpose and are full of their emotions. That is the most rewarding part of teaching.
Also= As a musician who takes great care of his body with a wide range of physical activities & who has studied the human body thoroughly, I'm convinced that piano playing requires tremendous physical dexterity and bodily control, not just knowledge of music alone.
Point= My approach to piano simply put is: How do we form the closest bond between "Us" and the "Instrument"
I acheive this by training the student's hands & body to move in the way they were designed by nature.
I fully understand music theory, chords, scales, and rhythm and I will teach you everything I know about them.
Point= So does every cookie-cutter piano teacher.
What 99% of teachers do not know is: How to teach students how best to move at the piano so that their playing becomes effortless.
Overall point= I can teach you to play effortlessly, regardless of age. I'm able to make my concepts easily understandable so a young child, total novice, or a seasoned player can put them right to use and experience piano playing like never before.
So, let me show you what you (or son/daughter) are capable at the piano, both musically and physically!
Musically Yours,
John
I have been teaching piano professionally since 2014 in both in-home and private-enterprise music school settings.
I am currently the assitant director of the Children's Choir and head keyboard instructor at The Agape Christian Church located in Timonium Maryland.
I began singing in elementary school at 6 and started piano at 9 years old. (I still remember the first song I feel in love with "What a Wonderful World")
I have over 15 years of piano experience of which includes two college degrees.
My teaching philosophy is modeled after the work of Canadian pianist & author Alan Fraser. (Feel free to view his free video content on YouTube and learn more about him on his website: alanfraserinstitute.com)
Alans's teachings focus on the awareness of your skeleton as it relates to the piano. This type of teaching awakens the true structure and function of the hand; unlocking its real power by replacing tension and over-relaxation teachings (which plague main-stream piano instruction) with much more effective movement patterns. This is what seperates my teaching style from 99% of other keyboard teachers out there.
My point= My job is to:
1. Help you maintain healthy hand function for the rest of your life never succombing to any pain or injury.
2. Show you how to produce the best possible sound in the correct way.
3. Give you the tools you need to be able to play any song you want at any speed with great accuracy and endless energy.
4. All the while learning the songs you want to play!!! Rock/Pop/Classical!
Regardless of age/experience, I can distill these concepts into understandable advice for both children and adults.
Don't wait any longer! Send me a quote!!
